The central simulation environment of ANSYS
ANSYS Workbench is the central simulation environment of ANSYS and it simplifies the input of calculation problems. Using commands in APDL, functions from ANSYS Classic can also be used in Workbench. ANSYS Workbench can be automated and controlled via scripts.
ANSYS Workbench convinces above all by enormous efficiency in the daily application, a uniform user interface, comprehensive networking technology, the direct connection to all current CAD systems and a broad spectrum of physical disciplines.
Unified user interface for all work steps
With ANSYS you can carry out all steps of the simulation in a unified user interface: from the creation and preparation of the geometry via the meshing and the definition of boundary conditions to the evaluation. The advantage is that you use a parametrically consistent system. This allows you to transfer changes in subsystems to all relevant analysis parts at the touch of a button - without manual effort. Variant investigations can be carried out particularly quickly and easily in this way.
Direct connection to all common CAD systems
Through the direct connection of ANSYS Workbench to your CAD system you can not only transfer geometries seamlessly, but also use an active, intelligent connection of the simulation software to the CAD model. The ANSYS simulation can automatically adopt and initiate changes in the CAD system, whereby all relevant definitions are retained in ANSYS. This enables you to directly evaluate design changes and systematically carry out variant studies, for example for targeted design optimization.
Comprehensive crosslinking technology
ANSYS' cross-linking technology is one of the most comprehensive and powerful on the market: the result of over 40 years of development and strategic acquisitions (ICEM, CFD, CFX, Fluent, Ansoft). ANSYS supplies precisely fitting methods for an optimal, task-oriented net creation. Manual and automatic networking algorithms, intelligent refinement mechanisms, sophisticated network topologies and field-tested network patterns make working safe and fast - both for beginners and advanced users.
High efficiency in day-to-day use
The efficiency of ANSYS is mainly based on the high performance of the equation solvers and the functional practicability. The solvers used make it possible to simulate even large assemblies, diverse details and very demanding physical effects. Automation functions, which can be optionally activated, make working comfortable and relieve the user without patronizing him. One example is the automatic generation of connections, networks and result reports, which you can adapt to specific requirements by manual settings.
